Since our apartment backs up to empty storage rooms on two sides, the landlords have decided to install a washer and dryer room that attached to our dining room. Over the past two weeks, people have been in and out creating this room from empty storage space.

Now, this might not seem like a big deal, but as 1) a student and 2) a person who works from home, this means we are constantly in each others ways. But, since the workers don't have a set schedule (as in, they only work about 1-4 hours a day, and randomly at that), what it really means is that I have horrible timing.

For example, one day I decided to take a mid-morning nap, and woke up to someone working in the bathroom attached to my bedroom.

On one occasion, they came in while I was in the shower. Learning from this experience, I changed the time of day that I showered, only to have them come in again during this time.

Do not worry, there have been no embarrassing moments. It just means that I've reverted back to living in a dorm, where I take all precautions to guard against intruders.

Or maybe it means I should just start keeping business hours like normal people.

That's annoying. On the bright side it will probably be nice to have a washer and dryer that close ... unless you already have one in your apartment and then that's just annoying. I hope they finish soon.
