First person? Third person? First person? Third person?

That's all I'm thinking about these days.

Oh yeah, it's January. That's why it's suddenly so cold. I forgot we were still in winter after this week of highs near 70.

I have, of late, had increased paranoia about not waking up on time. I have various alarms, depending on when I teach, but yesterday my phone alarm didn't go off as it was set to. If I hadn't of woken up on my own ten minutes later than I had planned, I would have missed teaching my class.

So, last night I set two alarms. Only, apparently when I set the real one, I also set the one that I sometimes use to wake up for middle-of-the-night Korean classes... think around 1 to 2 a.m.

I woke up last night to Tim asking me whether or not I was going to turn off the alarm. I looked at my alarm clock, saw that it was around 1:30in the morning, thought he must be crazy and went back to sleep. I didn't plan on waking up until 7:00 in the morning. I was only momentarily super annoyed that Tim woke me up just to ask me about my alarm clock, and wondered if he was just then getting to bed.

What in reality happened is that my alarm clock had gone off several times, and in my sleep, I had just kept turning them off. I have no memory of this happening, but you'll just have to take Tim's word for it that he became fed up with the alarm clock continually going off and being reset, finally asked me, and I somehow turned the alarm off for good without turning off my real alarm, in my sleep.

Along with humming and teeth-grinding, when do I actually rest in sleep? I wish someone would tell my sleeping body to chill out.

Is it possible to justify the amount of daytime television I watched over break in the name of being a fiction writer? I mean, conflict is conflict, right? Crazy people are crazy people?

We all should have gone into politics.
Yesterday, the weathermen said there was a chance that Wilmington would get snow. All of the previous week we've had below freezing temperatures at night, and starting today, back to freezing. But not today.

Around nine o'clock at night, they said that snow was a very slim possibility; it was the only warm day in a two week time span, and the temperature was only going to be in the upper thirties.

Wilmington schools still decided to have a 2 hour delay today.

I really do love this town.
